Roadmap board is a visual schedule for a project. It allows you to see the start and due dates of the tasks on a calendar and manage project plans.
To create a Roadmap board go to the left menu and click Add new > Board. Or use a quick add menu by clicking + icon near the search bar.
After that specify the name of the board and choose a project (-s) / a collection for the board.
The board itself consists of two blocks: the list of the tasks and the calendar. On the list, you can see task’s name, task’s assignee and its status icon:
- To Do
- In Progress
You can add single tasks as well as a group of tasks. A Group represents a big task with subtasks. Tasks inside the groups can be collapsed for a better navigation on the board. Also, you can move groups and tasks across the board changing their position and add tasks to a group with drag and drop. To add a new group click the Add Group button and adjust its position in the list.
To edit or archive the group click the action button and choose the necessary action on a pop-up menu.
Tasks inside a group have a blue taskbar on a calendar, while the single ones have a green taskbar.
To add a new task use the Add Task option and enter the task’s name.
To create a dependency between tasks use the Add Task from another board option and quickly search items from other boards and add them to Roadmap.
You can also include the tasks from other boards into your Roadmap by copying a link of another task, paste it into the Add Task or Add Task from another board field, and the task will appear on the Roadmap as a linked task.
By default, the date when the task is created is considered its Start Date. To change the Start Date of the task, move the taskbar directly on the calendar to the necessary date. Due Date of the task can be set and edited either from the task menu or directly from the calendar by moving the taskbar to the necessary position.
